The “Ohio Bamboo” is horsetail, genus Equisetum. I think what is at Clear Creek is “smooth horsetail”, Equisetum laevigatum, but don’t quote me on that.

We found over five pounds in one area over in Scioto Trails…went back the next two days same place and found tons more. Finding black ones, a few gray, and some of the red ones. Haven’t been out the past two days cause of rain suppose to go back tomorrow after work if it doesn’t rain, if it does will hit it again this weekend. Got lots of great pics on fb! I dunno , I looked in all the usual places. The leaf litter seems a little deeper and I bet their were some smaller ones not poking through yet. Looking again next week.

Yea , I shoulda went up . I did make it up 2 flights and started feeling a little woozy, also had about 10 miles to hike. I took a break and had a smoke.
